Rating:

'About a Burning Fire' achieves the improbable; a Blindside album that is actually worth listening to, even if it's unfortunately the only one from their entire discography that I could recommend. The band has once again indulged in experimentation and for the first time it actually succeeds, supplementing the standard emo-core style with more melodic and symphonic elements in 'Shekina,' a satisfyingly downbeat acoustic performance in 'Roads,' a short, simple and fun punk piece with 'Swallow' and some intriguing electronic influence towards the end of 'Where the Sun Never Dies,' subtle enough to be enjoyable without being overbearing. Original for its time, highly influential Certainly not to everyone's tastes.....

None really Crap and unrecognisable from the band's Azoic album

The Cure's strongest set of songs when released, great arrangements for the most part Primary and Doubt, while not bad songs, stick out artistically

String sections demonstrate a willingness to innovate. It's tedious and cacophonous emo-hardcore.

Superb thrash-punk throughout, classic None

Has plenty of songs that can easily be related to life in general. The odd crazy/mad lyric and song.

World To Come - Maya Beiser
Beautiful, haunting music for cello; enough to convert me to a Beiser's fan! Not that I can recognise

Wild Heart - Stevie Nicks
A must for fans only, returns with the same dry acoustic sound, strong singles. Not like Bella Donna and loses composure thanks to conflicting and confusing lyrics,

The Man Comes Around: American IV - Johnny Cash
Wonderful voice and choice of songs Not for people who depress easily

In The Meantime - Christine McVie
The only recent album from the one half of British talent of Fleetwood Mac; calming qualities. Some dated songs, not enough fresh content. Too familiar sometimes.

Heavier Things - John Mayer
melancholy blues, versatile songwriting sometimes maudlin, sometimes unoriginal

High Times: Singles 1992-2006 - Jamiroquai
Lots of danceable tracks A little bit repetitive

Children Of Love - Fuckpony
Well, they're called Fuckpony... a few weak tracks drag down the others

Bella Donna - Stevie Nicks
Most songs appear timeless, good bargain prices, Some great songs. Not many. Some songs contain airy fairy lyrics.

Batman - Soundtrack
The most powerful Batman score ever composed; an Elfman classic all the way So what if it isn't the most sophisticated score in the world?

A Weekend In The City - Bloc Party
A very good second album, some really well made tracks takes a bit longer to get into than Silent Alarm
