Advantages: Too many to list.

Disadvantages: I'm so old, I got it when it came out.

This album is an absolute classic, originally released in 1991 it was years ahead of it's time in terms of British house music which with the exception of The Orb was struggling to keep pace with the progress being made by Chicago and Detroit.

As polished and accomplished as any US techno/house album of the same era Accelerator is a roller coaster ride of a journey. From the jagged break beat of opening track Expander through the lush deep house of While Others Cry to the chill out ambience of Papua New Guinea, the Blade Runner sampling It's Not My Problem and the hard acid techno of Moscow, all the bases are covered.

Papua New Guinea is probably worth a review of it's own being an all time classic tune most people will recognise but likely not know the name of.

Each individual track stands on it's own merits and would fit into just about any DJ set, but taken together as a whole Accelerator works as sublimely as few other albums are capable of doing.

Forget about Warp, Prodigy, Orbital, Utah Saints this is one British album that is worth the plaudits, even if they are in hindsight.

Summary: British electronic music at it's best.
