... strongest one on here. The song rocketed to number one when released and is a celebratory delight of Neil's rousing vocals and Chris' soaring synth riffs. The song will move you, it will mesmerise and surprise. A bit more subdued is Rent, with harsh lyrics and a gut wrenching set of verses. One of my personal faves is the duet with Dusty Sprngfield on What Have I Done To Deserve This. The balance of vocals is superb and Dusty brings a superb mellowness to the song. It is touching and poignant. Production: Even in the mid ei...more

Now this is perhaps the Pet Shop Boys at their finest. They don't do long album titles, it just isn't them. Short and to the point, this album contains some of their music when they were at the peak of their career. So actually, let's see what is on it... Premium Review One More Chance! (1064 words)

Welcome to London, 1987. Two men, impeccably dressed in black tie, greet you. A young Neil Francis Tennant, lead singer of an edgy, breakthrough dance-pop act known as the Pet Shop Boys, yawns at you from the cover of the album. It's been a late night. His fellow band-member, Christopher Sean Lowe, who is virtually unrecognisable without his trademark baseball cap and shades, looks the camera straight in the eye. So it's a bland enough album cover with an almost self-deprecating, embarrassed, title: "Pet Shop Boys, actually". Looks can deceive. Get ready to go on a storming, energy-laden musical journey back in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Actually - Pet Shop Boys: My fav album (1238 words)

There are many topics that repeat itself again and again when you speak about the PetShopBoys (PSB) to someone who is not a "fan" of them (almost here in spain). There are two possible answers: " so many years since the last album... discography? " Or "They are over-sweet". In my opinion there are two different stages or eras in the story of this great group. Some of the people who didn't listened about PSB for ages identify PSB as the typical picture of the late 80's (the first stage). The second ones thinks that their music is, most of times, a bit over-sweet 'cos maybe they don't associate the first era 80-91 with ...  Read the complete review

Script For A Jester's Tear - Marillion
Marillion at their finest - and a bonus CD of extra material Not something you can put on in the background

Say It Like You Mean It - Starting Line
Much of this album is excellent, superbly catchy Pop Punk expertly executed. In 'Leaving' the band try too many things at once and it just doesn't work.

Palm Trees And Power Lines - Sugarcult
Always the band are full of energy and excitement. Those not too fond of Pop Punk music will hate this.

L.E.F. - Ferry Corsten
Good variety of sounds and styles - no fillers Won't convert non-believers

K - Kula Shaker
When it's good, it's very good Sometimes the whole mystic thing gets taken too far

Greatest Hitz - Limp Bizkit
There are a lot of fine moments here. Not all of the album is particularly impressive.

Decadence - Head Automatica
Bouncy and truly exciting powerpop music, tremendous fun to listen to. A couple of the tracks here are a little disappointing.

I Am The Movie - Motion City Soundtrack
Upbeat synths meet pop-punk Sometimes the group's enthusiasm runs away with them and the music outdoes the vocal offering
