The palm-muted death metal riffs of songs like opener 'Wound Upon Wound' possess none of the creativity of the band's earlier days under Infernus' direction, and the slower sections now feel shoehorned and predictable, rather than an interesting diversion. As full-pelt extreme metal, the album's only option for diversity is to slow down, and the result is the rather dull 'Sign of an Open Eye,' led by an ominous lead...more

Generally good album Not as good as their other stuff

The best metal/hard rock album in time? maybe Allegedly ''the sell out album''

Great incorporation of subtle melody. Shorter still.

Something different. Infernus should stick to his day job.

Hellish and still experimental. Focus on overt aggression begins in earnest.

Heavy Metal - 2007
