Mind First of all let me say I could not have written this review with out 14 years of listening to and analyzing this album and band. I am not arrogant, but I doubt anyone could have. This album, if listened to correctly, can change the face of all humanity for the better. We must evolve past the status quo and expectations of society, politics and religion and become something far better than what we have been. I do not find human life as some great mystery in the universe, but find us quite ordinary and boring. We must evolve. This is the key to or survival. We destroy each other on a daily basis; not only with war and violence, but with biased opinion and ... Read the complete review

Give or take a few months, Tool's Ænima will be celebrating its ten years anniversary, and it still remains one of the most influential and best loved heavy metal and progressive metal albums of all time. Even a decade on, it sounds as fresh and range soaked as it did back in the day, and one look down the track listing will revealed a handful of influential tracks which are still solid favourites with the unique live shows put on by the band. The problem with Tool for a reviewer is to categorise them, as ... Read the complete review

How on earth do you start a review for what is quite simply a masterpiece and possibly the greatest metal album ever made? On Aenima Tool bring together the crunching visceral attack of Heavy Metal, and the pretentiousness of art rock to produce 77 minutes of dark, dense, exhilarating and challenging music that is well worth the 3 and a half year wait since their previous effort Undertow. This is thinking persons rock and will on may levels fly straight over the casual listener?s head as what will follow is complex, convoluted songs with lengthy instrumental breaks and a variety of vocal treatments. The musicianship is tight and the interplay between ... Read the complete review
