Then nothing... Kate Bush simply disappeared from sight. Rumours abounded about her Garboesque existence but in reality she was just enjoying a few years of unhurried domesticity. Never a fan of the spotlight, she lived quietly with her partner and young son, at the same time, no doubt, slowly developing ideas for her next opus....more

Premium Review Aerial - Kate Bush: In Search of the Lost Song (1595 words)
by Templar19 - written on 21/06/08 (Very useful, 135 readings)
Rating:

It all happened when I was painting my sister's kitchen. In search of some music to accompany my charitable labours I was leafing through her CD rack for a suitable spin. There wasn't much to choose from (our musical tastes have always been at odds) but I did notice some Bowie and was about to load him up when I saw it: a pleasantly packaged CD just sitting there, all shiny and new, recently purchased, no doubt. My heart stopped for a moment as the name leapt out at me: Kate Bush. Express Review on Aerial - Kate Bush
by zelig33 - written on 17/04/08
Rating:

I always loved Kate Bush and thought The Dreaming was one of the greatest albums of all time.
All albums after I thought went down hill, less experimental and more mainstream lounge pop.
So I waited with baited breath thinking 12 years could change a career drastically , only to be confronted by this album!!
Apart from King of The Mountain (Typical KB) I have to say I went to sleep listening to this.
Please Kate go back and finish the project with Prince - Now that was really breath taking!!!

The material reflects this and the artwork on Aerial paves the way for the music, with a row of washing on a clothes line in the inner sleeve gradually metamorphosing into seagulls. There are two discs with seven and nine songs respectively and Aerial has been critically lauded and nominated for Best British album at this years Brit Awards, while Kate has been nominated for best female solo artist. ~A Sea of Honey~ begins with the single King of the Mountain which has a slow, rythmic beat and is about the myths that surround Elvis. It's ...
