**Introduction** Darren Hayes is now a solo artist three albums in and Daniel Jones has written for a number of different artists since the breakup of Savage Garden but let's remember the music they made whilst making up the duo of Savage Garden. The story of Savage Garden began when Daniel Jones placed an advertisement in Brisbane newspaper Time Off seeking a vocalist for his five-piece band Red Edge. Darren Hayes became the vocalist and in June 1994 they both left the group to pursue a career together as a duo. The band's name comes from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. They released their self titled debut album in 1997 and the followed it up with this ... Read the complete review

Anyone who has read my 'Music' review will have guessed I quite like Savage Garden so I though why not review their best album: Affirmation. I was introduced to Savage Garden by my RE teacher at school! Weird I know but she was taking assembly one day and talking about accepting people for who they are etc... and said 'I think this song explains what I mean more than words ever could' and she played the title track of this album 'Affirmation'. ??Bittersweet, sad, beautiful?? are the words that Darren Hayes used to express what he thought expressed the CD the best. If you want to read more of the interview it can be found at http://www.savagegarden.com/MSNchat.html but be warned that it is an emotional interview. The CD Affirmation moves beyond the emotions and feelings of their debut CD. The music and lyrics are stronger and more aggressive than they have been before. Even though this CD is considerably longer than the first one it still seems short and can be listened to over and over again. Affirmation The CD Starts with the title track ??Affirmation,?? this song is a ... Read the complete review

Savage Garden have recently finished an extensive world tour, and are having a well earned break, so to keep them in the spotlight somewhat, I have decided to review their second album “Affirmation”. Although Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones claim to be resting, they are in fact writing and recording tracks for their eagerly awaited third album. The band was originally started by Daniel and his brothers. When they realised that they needed a singer, Darren turned up for the audition, and at first the brothers thought he was too inexperienced, but his enthusiasm won them over. At first they did cover versions, but Darren inspired Daniel to greater ... Read the complete review

The rain falling outside was crashing on the window, as the lightening started to strike I decided to make the house perfect for when the other half came home. I put the fire on, set out a bottle of wine and a few ‘munchies’ nothing heavy as I already had food cooking. The bath was run and the oils ready to relax him, flicking through the CD collection I was looking for something to create the right atmosphere. Having only listened to the CD by Savage Garden once, I seemed to remember it being very slow going and full of lovely dovey. Anyway pressed for time I stuck with this choice and went to change into something more ‘comfortable’, ... Read the complete review
