A brilliant album with a mix of their more commerical stuff as well as more grimey tunes as well

With this album Fazer, Dappy and Tulisa aka N Dubz have attempted to capitalise on their chance to break into British mainstream music while still retaining their musical roots. Some of the songs are incredibly catchy especially the single I need you and Playing with Fire with all of the trio getting at least a verse and either tulisa or dappy or both taking on the chorus to create some really catchy pop/rap tunes. There is even a song on here which could be just as well placed on a female solo artist cd- 'comfortable'. Here tulisa sings the whole song and there is no rapping involved and to be honest its a nice song perfectly placed in the album for a slightly softer approach. Don't get me wrong there is still evidence of their camden roots such as Duku man which I can guarantee won't be released as a single as it is probably the least commercial song on the album. Overall this is a brilliant album full of catchy commercial music with a few gems- Shoulda put something on and I dont wanna go to sleep as well as the singles.

      I love it!

N-Dubz first caught my eye with their song Number One , last year.At the time , I had thought that this was their debut song , although I discovered later , that they had in fact been around for a couple of years. Since then I have liked all of their singles , and so decided to buy their album ; Against All Odds.

Against All Odds is the second album from the trio , and was released in the United Kingdom in November 2009. The album is available to buy from Amazon for a price of £6.99 which I think is good value considering that the album is fairly recent. This album comes with a parental advisory notice , and so is not suitable for people of all ages.

      *Tracklist*
1)Against All Odds 2)I Need You 3)Playing With Fire (Mr Hudson) 4)Say Its Over 5)Na Na (ft. Wiley) 6)Shoulda Put Something On 7Duku Man Skit (feat. Fearless) 8)I Don't Wanna Go To Sleep 9)S**k Yourself (feat. Chipmunk) 10)No One Knows 11)Number One (N-Dubz Version) 12)Comfortable 13)Let Me Be (feat. Nivo) 14)Against All Odds
I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of rap or garage music , but I absolutely love this album. In fact it's one of my favourite albums of 2009 , along with Lady Gaga's and Beyonce's to name a few. There are a lot of good songs on here ; my favouries being Playing With Fire , Against All Odds and Number One , although they are all good! I like how each song is different and has a different sound. It means that there are different songs to suit every mood.
The trio really put their all into this album. I especially love Tulisa's voice and think that she could easily make it as a solo artist , although for now I think she adds a great sparkle to the group. I don't like too much rap in a song , so I think 'her pop/r n b parts' are what makes me love their songs so much.
I would definetely recommend this album! If you've liked their singles , then you'll love this CD.

      Thanks for reading!

      Well-worth a listen!

I was never normally a listener of hip-hop before I was introduced to N-Dubz by a good friend - I was a rock and metal person! But I must admit, Against All Odds had me hooked from my first listening of "Playing With Fire" and "I Need You" amongst the other amazing tracks on this album. Not only have N-Dubz come from "practically nothing to thousands screaming our name," but they've done it without losing the heart of what they're making music for. Whereas some hip-hop, rap and other "popular" artists make the music they think people will listen, whether it means something or not, N-Dubz have never lost sight of the heart of their inspiration - real people, real events, real life. Take "Ouch" for example. I know its' not on this album (it's on Uncle B), but it's a song that really outlines the reality in their music. Dediacted to a friend who died in a motorbike accident, it really hits the heart when you listen to it. Songs on this album like "Number One" and "Comfortable" among others, have a similiar "This is our real life" feel to them, and I really like that about them. I am now a big fan of N-Dubz, despite my previous judgments of them, and would definitely recommend people who may have preconceived ideas of them to give them a chance, as they really are an amazing band and if I can be converted, I don't see who can't!

      Worth every penny

This is the latest album from the camden trio Dappy, Tulisa and Fazer who are widely know as N-dubz. It is jam packed with amazing songs including the major hits "I need you" and "playing with fire" and "Number one" and they have teamed up with many different artists on this album including Mr Hudson, Chipmunk, Nivo, Wiley and more. Also there is a new feature included in this album it allow N-Dubz to be in your rrom, on the back of the album booklet if you hover you webcam over it, it shows n-dubz and you change the postition of the webcam in order to see you're favourite n-dubz singer, it is a brilliant piece of technology and well worth it. The album was named against all odds because that is what Dappy's dad said they should call the first album before he passed away back in 2006 and because of all the obsticles they have gone through to become this famous.

      Good Album.

Against All odds is N-Dubz second album yet to be hit to the markets and has become a fantastic seller internationally. They released in Ireland on the 13th November 2009 and was released in the UK on the 16th of November 2009 which is still pretty recent, so is definitely a hot going live song at the moment, so don't be surprised if you hear the songs in the streets or in shops.

There album can be found in nearly all shops, and most definitely in the Music and Gaming ones. You can currently buy the album for £8.98 from Amazon, which is at a reasonable price, and I am sure you wont find a better deal else where.

      The songs in there albums are in order listed like so;

      1. Against All Odds - Intro Version - 0:57
      2. I Need You - 3:20
      3. Playing With Fire (Mr Hudson) - 3:47
      4. Say Its Over - 3:44
      5. Na Na (Wiley) - 3:31
      6. Shoulda Put Something On - 3:35
      7. Duku Man Skit ( Fearless) - 2:24
      8. I Dont Wanna Go To Sleep - 3:20
      9. Suck Yourself (feat. Chipmunk) - 4:24
      10. No One Knows - 3:23
      11. Number One (N-Dubz Version) - 3:33
      12. Comfortable - 4:08
      13. Let Me Be (feat. Nivo) - 3:39
      14. Against All Odds - Outro Version - 0:49

Clearly the longest song there is listed ''9.'' and named ''Suck Yourself'' which indeed features a famous singer tag named Chipmunk. Of course it is the longest song in the album but clearly is not the best one. Some of them will just be a song from before but in a remix version, so technically it is just put into there own words and rhythm.

The top 3 songs in the Album will probably have to be Number One, Suck Yourself and Shoulda put something On. Clearly they are the best out of the album and the only ones worth listening to, although one or two is a remix they still have that beat and rhythm which makes it a song worth to listen to.

It is definitely an album worth to put onto your phone or computer to listen to when you are bored, it just lacks of a few tracks which have no empathy what so ever. Definitely a recommended song if you are into latest music at the moment.

        good 2nd album

NDubz's second album is titled Against all odds which i take to mean that they made it against the odds. Ndubz- made up of Dappy, Tulisa, and Fazer are a band from London that have had independant releases and shot to fame a few years back but now have a major recording contract and have sung songs with artists such as mr hudson, chipmunk and tinchy stryder.
the songs on the second album are much more commercial as they are trying to appeal to an american market. in the inside of the album it has lots of information about ndubz and the song words as well and also the translations of some of the odd words that they say in their songs such as duku yourself which means big up yourself!!
ndubz has produced a range of songs that are all diffeerent as the members in the band are very versatile. I particularly like the songs that tulisa leads in. the band have stuck to their song genre about life in london town, claiming giros, getting drunk, taking drugs and getting girls pregnant. My fave is shudda put something on.
i personally tihnk that ndubz arre a band aimed at youngsters which i definately think is wrong as the song genre is definately not something i would want my young children to be listening to.

          Disadvantages

Not as good as the first album but still worth getting

Against All Odds is the second album released by London hip-hop trio N-Dubz in November 2009.

After the success of their first album, Uncle B, N-Dubz returned with this 45 minute offering to show their growth from their previous effort. The good parts of the album are that there are several really good songs. A few of them you will already have heard on the radio like 'I Need You' or the very catchy 'Number 1' that also featured Tinchy Stryder. They show some real writing and musical talent on 'Playing With Fire' that enlists the singing talents of Mr Hudson to provide a strong chorus. The catchy and up tempo beats also return here with the majority of the songs having good musical production.

My favourite songs on the album are probably the two singles that have been released but also 'Say It's Over' and the Gary Barlow assisted 'No One Knows'. The Gary Barlow collaboration in particular shows just how far N-Dubz have come since the release of their debut album.

The solo song 'Comfortable' by Tulisa comes across as very heartfelt and sincere and her vocal talents that are displayed on this track in particular show that she could easily branch off into a solo album or two at some point in the future like most members of hip-hop groups do.

While there is a lot of good parts on Against All Odds there are some not so good too. Out of 14 tracks, 2 of them (the first and last) are less than a minute long and are almost the exact same thing. The length of the album is a problem and the shortness of it seems to confirm the rumours that it had to be rushed in at the end. With most hip-hop albums coming in at over an hour, they could have used another few quality songs and this would have been an even better album. The other slight fault with the album is when they break off into things like talking about going against 'The Feds'. For a start, the Feds are American and wouldn't really have much interest in what's happening in London but from a musical point of view it just doesn't fit in with the rest of their work.

I think N-Dubz are at their best when taking on a more serious tone and addressing serious issues. 'Papa Can You Hear Me' from their first album was a really strong song and there are a few on Against All Odds that are in a similar vein.

I wouldn't normally mention this when talking about a music album but the booklet that accompanies this album is by far and away the best I have ever seen on a music album. It is filled with the usual production information and lyrics but there are also backstage photos from video shoots, an interview with the group and more. I can only compliment them on taking the time to create such a brilliant extra that seems to be overlooked by everyone else.

With Against All Odds, N-Dubz have gotten past the traditionally difficult second album and done so with a good quality album. I think it will get better as I continue to listen to it and their third album should then see them demonstrate just how good they really are.

          1. "Against All Odds" (Intro) 0:57
          2. "I Need You" 3:20
          3. "Playing With Fire" (featuring Mr Hudson) 3:47
          4. "Say It's Over" 3:44
          5. "Na Na" (featuring Wiley) 3:31
          6. "Shoulda Put Something On" 3:35
          7. "Duku Man Skit" (featuring Fearless) 2:24
          8. "I Don't Wanna Go To Sleep" 3:20
          9. "Suck Yourself" (featuring Chipmunk) 4:24
          10. "No One Knows" 3:23
