... hearing a live recording of her old favourites brings something new to the songs. Some of the arrangements have been changed, the backing singers are sensational, and I would say some of these versions are better than the orginals. The version of 'If I Ain't Got You' will give you goosbumps and the arrangement of 'If I Was Your Woman' is a throw back to the Gladys Knight orginal, which is no bad thing. I definitely wasn't left feeling short changed by the limited number of new songs and the ones that are on ther...more

Having been lucky enough to go and see Miss Keys live twice, I can honestly say, as beautiful as her voice sounds when its been recorded in a studio, it's only when you hear her live that you fully understand how talented she is. This album lets you get closer to the experience of her live performances. Although it has only has a few new tracks, hearing a live recording of her old favourites brings something new to the songs. **Introduction** When I was thinking of requesting something new to review I came across this album on my windows media player and after a dooyoo search I realised it was not on here yet so I of course requested it and here it is on dooyoo. As a big fan of Alicia Keys after her two albums Songs In A Minor and The Diary of Alicia Keys I was delighted to hear in 2005 that she was due to release a new live album as part of the renowned MTV Unplugged series. Below is a little bit about the MTV Unplugged series. **MTV Unplugged** I'm sure that one of the artists you like will probably have recorded a live album for MTV Unplugged at some point ...  Read the complete review

Great versions, collaborations Not a lot

Lots of big tunes A couple of tunes lack energy

Disc 1 is a superb testimony to a great voice Disc 2 is patchy with its turf war between dance and r'n'b

Great vocals, inspiring, music Not a lot really

Some big tunes Inconsistent

a few catchy ones some fillers

Total Fucking Necro - Anaal Nathrakh
Easily affordable way to own the band's demos, a great supplement to the first album. Not as sophisticated as a "proper" album.

The Scarecrow - Tobias Sammet's Avantasia
Another fantastic metal opera by Tobias Sammett lots of guest vocals None for me

The Machinery Of Oblivion - Arcane Order
Aggressive death metal without sounding forced. Clearly derivative of Gothenburg bands.

Silent Waters - Amorphis
Some good melodical riffs Too wet

Lost In Space: Vol. 2 - Tobias Sammet's Avantasia
Good vocals. More of the same, and the same wasn't that good.

Morphogenesis - And Oceans
If you don't own the studio albums, this is some great symphonic black metal. Basically inferior versions of album material, sold for a quick buck.

Cypher - And Oceans
More coherent than 'A.M.G.O.D.' Abandons black metal for weak industrial.

Codex Necro - Anaal Nathrakh
Insanely good vocals, excellent riffs, great song structures, very atmospheric, varied. Not for the fainthearted!

Chained - At Vance
Great guitar showmanship from Olaf Lenk. A very dated sound, and exactly the same as the band's previous albums.

Battle At Helms Deep - Attacker
Early U.S. power metal, from metal's golden age. Vocals may irritate, and it's all more than a little daft.
