 ... time to point out that this is classed as a ‘bluesgrass’ album, not country. Again, I won’t bore you with the subtleties of how blussgrass differs from country, but anyone who doesn’t listen to the country music will class ‘..Miles Or More’ predominately as a country album. That said, even if you’re not a country fan, I wouldn’t let that necessarily put you off the album, since it has some interesting and listenable songs. When most people hear the words ‘Country Music’, I guess they most likely think of banjos, f...more

~~~ Just A Country Boy ~~~ I have long prided myself on what I consider to be a wide and varied taste in music. Eclectic I think is the only word anyone could use to explain what I listen to. Those people who kind of know will probably quickly label me as a rock and metal fan; those who really know me will be able to tell you that as well as Metallica, Megadeth, System Of A Down, In Flames and a whole host of other ‘rock/metal’ bands, my music collection also features many other genres. I could bore you for hours with the various genres and sub-genres that make up my collection, but I think it’s sufficient to say that about the only style I’ve never managed to get ...  Read the complete review
An excellent introduction to Country Music at its best When's the 2nd Volume, Alan?
Great songs and performances Albums contain a few filler tracks, but not many
Well-crafted songs telling poignant tales; great musicianship; evocative pedal steel None to speak of
Pure Eagles magic! None
A brilliant, myth-shattering, Lazarus-like return. None.
Great new album, with honest, well written lyrics and catchy tunes Not as many good tracks for those who don't like country music
New Beginnings Of Old Stories - 4ft Fingers
The album is fun to listen to, the tracks strong to sing along to. All of the bands other albums are a lot better, the tracks all lack passion.
Ven - Eluveitie
Interesting dominance of folk instruments. Brief, and the metal performance is uninspired.
Beyond Hell - GWAR
Competent modern thrash. No original ideas, and too much focus on the daft lyrics.
Scumdogs Of The Universe - GWAR
Creative crossover-thrash, with a few genuinely funny lyrics here and there. Still pretty stupid.
Awaking The Gods: Live In Mexico - Haggard
Highlights of the first two albums, performed impeccably. Pre-emptive, and annoying crowd noise.
Blessed Black Wings - High On Fire
Heavy and fast stoner doom. Repetitive song styles.
Blessings From A Blackened Sky - The Sorrow
The bands members are quite talented. A lack of passion in the sound, no personality whatsoever put across in the music.
Universe In Reverse - Infadels
From The Cradle To The Brave - Highland Glory
Great Power Metal with a twist couple of weaker tracks on album
Prisoners In Paradise - Europe
classic big hair eighties rock A couple of duff tracks
