Advantages: live songs!
Disadvantages: the sound could be better
Flogging Molly is an Irish American punk band that sound very Irish in their singing as they are all, or mostly born in Ireland even though the band actually formed in America. Alive behind the green door was recorded live in 1997 by the band at Molly Malone's.
The album starts with the song swagger which isn't one of my favourite but it's a quite up beat happy song and get the crowd going, its also very good to hear the crowd on a live CD's its something that I really like and I think it enhances the experience.
Every dog has its day is in my opinion a really great song, it starts off acoustically with only him singing with his acoustic guitar, but then the electrics comes in, the drums come in and so do all the other instruments that goes with flogging molly.
Never met a girl like you before is my second favourite song off this live album, its kind of a love song about a girl and so the lyrics are quite slow and really nice, the instruments are quite low all the way through and so you can hear his voice very well which I like about this song, and how he sings it with real passion.
My favourite song off this album though is if I ever leave this world alive. It starts off with the famous harmonica and acoustic guitar strumming before he starts singing, it's a really beautiful song and he sings it so well and it's the best song off the album to show off his voice for how good it is, also when I gets going the song just sounds better and better and the crowd gets going even more.
1. Swagger
2. Every Dog Has Its Day
3. Selfish Man
4. Never Met A Girl Like You Before
5. Laura
6. If I Ever Leave This World Alive
7. Black Friday Rule
8. What Made Milwaukee Famous (Made A Loser Out Of Me)
9. Between A Man And A Woman
10. Delilha
This album is only 10 songs long, two are covers, its quite poor quality however its still a fantastic album, it's the band from many years ago performing some of their best songs, and you cant argue with that.
Summary: a great live album
