All Eyez on Me is the 1996 double rap album from the late Tupac Shakur, released on Death Row records. On the week this was released the album sold 566,000 copies (a record for a rap album at the time), it went platinum within 4 weeks, had sold over 9m copies by 1999, and now stands as the biggest selling rap album of all time. The album marked a shift in 2pacs style, as past efforts had been full of messages and meaningful songs with a little gangster rap thrown in, whilst AEOM moved to mainly gangster music with a few meaningful ones hidden in there. This is probably down to the fact Death Row Records was owned and ran by gangster Suge Knight, a man who ... Read the complete review

When this album released in 1996 I was in my last year of school and I wasn't a big fan of rap. In those days rap stars rarely made it across the pond and I couldn't remember any rappers after MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice! When my friends and I got our hands on an All Eyez on Me cassette we were blown away. At first the swearing and the street language gets a little getting used to and once we had gotten over that novelty we got hooked. If you're a novice to rap like I was back then, the tracks that appeal to you are the catchy numbers like California Love, 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted and Skandalouz. But a few more listens and you realise that the real gems on ... Read the complete review

"All Eyez On Me" is the 9X Platinum-selling album from 2Pac. it was his fourth, and penultimate album prior to his death in September of the year, 1996. The album is largely seen as a classic Hip Hop recording, and one of the most influential to date. It is a double album, and amazingly the artists manged to write and record the whole thing within two weeks (whihc also happened to be the fortnight after he was relased from prison). Disc 1 1. "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" The introduction of "I can't deny it, umma straight ridah" draws you right in as you get quite simplistic production, which is all based around a ... Read the complete review

Fresh out of jail and after signing to the West Coast based label Death Row Records, 2pac dropped his debut album on Death Row titled All Eyez on Me and also Hip Hops First double album. This album has to be Tupacs most angriest and confusing album to date, by listening to this album, You can tell he changed his style, but at the same time you can tell he had alot of crap on his mind, While this may not be 2pacs greatest offering as a matter of fact this is possibly his worse album when comparing his recent LPs but that doesnt mean you cant enjoy AEOM because 2Pac has a little bit for everyone, 2Pac shows that anger on tracks like Ambitionz as a Ridah, No More Pain, Only ... Apart from greatest hit compilations this is the best album to be released by the Death Row records bunch, if you have been reading my reviews for a long time you will know that I think 2Pac was to rap what taste is to food. I think he is the best rapper the world has ever seen, but anyway, I do not want to make this a review about 2Pac himself as I have already done one of those, so it would be silly to do another one. Released in 1996 you could think this album was a greatest hits record, it has all of his really good hits apart from Changes, which is what everyone really associates with him, even though I do not think it is his best song by far. ...
