With the success of Volume III and an exceedingly great tour, Slipknot seemed to be showing their comfort zone a little too much with this album. All Hope Is Gone, The title springs from a vision of the end of all, and no way in hell of stopping it. the word hope seems to be the only positive word i have seen slipknot use in their material. Straight from the get-go this album does not hold back with unbelievable drumming from joey jordison. Guitars excel further from what they were in Volume III. and the vocals shred through you like a sore throat from hell! But this is merely the beginning of the album. Once we go straight into songs ... Read the complete review

Slipknot have taken a more mainstream route with this - their fourth album. Although a letdown for fans of their first albums, this is still a really good listen. The lyrics are usual Slipknot style - about loss, death and pain. The sound is also very well orchestrated, despite the difficulty of getting nine band members to be able to create coherant sounds all at the same time. Their musical skill is really displayed in this album, rather then their ability to scream, which is also well presented in "All Hope Is Gone" and when Corey screams "THE LIMITS OF THE DEAD" multiple times in "Dead Memories". This has carried over from ... Read the complete review

Slipknots new album is not what you will be expecting! Those who are die hard fans (also known as ''Maggots'') may find themselfs slightly disappointed with this album. The reason I think this is beacuse its not like the old style they had in the past. For example were before there was heavy tunes such as 'Spit it out' there new songs seem to be watered down slighlty. Dont get me wrong there are a few (and i mean a few) songs that are a bit like there older stuff but the rest of the album has a more of a 'Stone Sour' feel to it. Having said this i did enjoy the album and there is a bit of something for everyone, theres a song called 'Snuff' thats sang ... Read the complete review

Slipknot are a band that you can listen to at any time and will NOT be bored off, however, this album at times can be slightly disappointing. It is clear that after their last album they have changed their sound, but I would much rather have the old slipknot back please :] For me, the best song of this album is 'Snuff', It's not very 'Slipknot' at all to be honest, but it is an AMAZING song! If you're not really after the heavier sound then this is such a good song to listen to! 'All hope is gone' and 'Psychosocial' are only really 'ok' songs..Something about them just doesn't do it for me. They can be good, but just a bit boring? for Slipknot anyways! ... Fresh of their recent Hiatus, the 'NU Metal' band Slipknot is back with 'All Hope is Gone'. As a self proclaimed 'maggot' (slipknot fan) i wasn't very impressed by this album when it compares to their others but none the less is still a good album for anyone interested in the genre. Still containing Slipknots trademark percussion wall and chugging riffs it still is none the less a heavy album except they have experimented with other sounds and all nine members have brought in their ideas to make this a completely different album to the rest, even containing accoustic songs and as Slipknot puts it a 'A Dark and Ominous Power ...
