Advantages: Catchy songs, and something a bit different from Kelly

Kelly Clarkson - All l ever wanted

We bought this album a while ago, not long after it first came out in March 09. We bought it because we just loved the song 'my life would suck without you', the song is so catchy and upbeat and actually rather infectious.
However this isn't the only reason we bought the album. We have bought albums of hers before and we generally really like her music, so knew it should be a good album and a worthy investment.

This is Kelly Clarksons 4th album. She rose to fame after winning American idol back in 2002. She has had great success since then. This album for me, is possibly her best!

In the past Kelly Clarkson's music has been music l enjoy, but music that l need to be in the mood for, and sometimes just a little bit loud and repetitive.
But this album is a little different to some of her previous work where she gives up screaming the lyrics in favour of singing so you can actually hear what shes talking about. Actually it was a nice supprise to see something a bit different. This album is still very much 'Kelly Clarkson' music, with her rocky and poppy songs and her catchy lyrics, but it seems a little less 'screamy' and a little more 'grown up'.
At 26 her music is changing a little, she doesn't want to be marked as constantly having the same sound, so has actually ventured on new territory with this album, and it actually works incredibly well

The album has a mix of sounds, fun songs, and some more mellow ballad tracks which also fit her voice perfectly. Its good to see that she is out there trying new things and she is not afraid of a challenge.

We have listened to this album continuously now for weeks. The album has such an upbeat feel to it, and l think its rather a good summery album. it's the type of album that just wants to get you singing away. Its rare you put on an album and it has this uplifting effect on your day, but this album does just that.

There are 14 tracks on the album, and l cant say l dislike any of them. What's great about this album is that, unlike other albums where there might be a couple of really good tracks and the rest are really weak, this album remains consistently good throughout.

My favourite tracks on the album are 'all l ever wanted' with its again catchy lyrics that are quite uplifting . Many of the songs are about relationships and many of the songs l think, sound a lot like Pink... l cannot pinpoint exactly what it is but there is something in her sound in some of the tracks that shouts Pink.
Other favourites are Already gone, which is totally different to the other tracks and shows a different dimension to Kelly's voice, a slower song, with a great deal of depth and meaning. Its good to know she has the depth in her voice to enable her to sing a variety of tracks.

Im sure l am going to miss listing some of my favourite tracks on the album, so l insist you listen for yourself. I have so many favourite songs on the album that l won't comment on them each individually, what l will say is that there are most definitely less poor tracks than good ones. One track I am not so keen on is 'if l cant have you', this is perhaps because it reminds me of some of her older material. Its definitely not a bad song, there is just something about the song that l find a little annoying, and something that doesn't quite sound as good as the rest on the album.

So would l recommend this album? Yes most definitely. If your in to the pop / rock sound that is characteristic of Kelly Clarkson then l think you will love the sounds of this album. This album seems to have lots of really positive reviews about, so it seems that many people feel that it is a top quality album, why not see for yourself? Im sure you wont be disappointed!
