When this album came out, I rushed to the shops to get it! This, of course, was in my teeny-bopper days! I really liked it, as they were much cooler than the SPice Girls. And they seemed to have that more hipper / darker look to them! But then, I stopped listening to the album, until now....I started to run out of things to write about for these Dooyoo opinions, so I decided to write about this. It's the first time I listened to it for AGES! And I must admit, it's still really good! It starts with the classic NEVER EVER. This song won countless Brits that year - remember Shazney crying? It has that speech at the start of the song, sung by ... Read the complete review

"I know where it's at" was the debut of All Saints, a real feel-good song. However with it came the speculation that they were the Spice Girls 'wannabies' (cliche!), luckily, they held their head up and produed this stunning album. With the saintly vocals of Nicole, Melanie (Mel) and Natile and the smooth r&b vocals of Shaznay, this group certainly shone through, and showed us that they are not anything like the Spices Girls The thirteen track album consists of the following songs: 1 Never Ever A mice mellow song that has been played to death on various radio stations and tv stations. A slightly boring intro, but still ... Read the complete review

May I go out on a limb here, please? Never in the history of pop music has a terrible album been so utterly rescued by its production team. Producers Cameron McVey (Massive Attack, Neneh Cherry), Johnny Douglas (George Michael, but his work is better here), and Karl Gordon (no idea) have taken what would have been a cookie cutter girl pop/R&B record and reincarnated it over a deep, luscious trip-hop soundscape. This is one of several paradoxes that runst through the album and helps All Saints ward off the Spice Girls comparisons that have dogged their every move for the past year. The band has most often defended itself against the Spice Girl-wannabe tag by ... Read the complete review

Right, first things first, I really can't stand 'under the bridge' because it IS the 'Red Hot Chilli Peppers' song. They ruined it for me, and I always have to skip through this one song, however.............. It IS a very strong debut album from the girls, which includes quite a few of their hit singles ~ 'I Know Where It's At', 'Never Ever', 'Lady Marmalade', 'Under the Bridge' and 'Booty Call'. They seem to fuse all the best bits from swing, soul and disco along with a bit of R&B, they flex their vocal chords and their flawless harmonies to deliver perfect 'pop' songs. This CD ... ALL SAINTS is the titleof British pop girl group ALL SAINTS album. The album features 13 tracks. The opening song NEVER EVER is a really soulful track with some beautiful harmonies in the vocals and a mellow feel which soothes you while listening. BOOTIE CALL is a fast paced track with bags of energy in the vocals which will get you on the dance floor due to it's uplifting spirit and sublime finale. I KNOW WHERE IT'S AT is another chilled out track with smooth vocals which create a positive vibe and the chorus is catchy bringinga funky vibe. UNDER THE BRIDGE is a cover song that is done quite well due to the slow nature ... Read the complete review
