Advantages: hmmm a few ok ones

Disadvantages: weak covers

It's another one of those dodgy albums isn't it? You can tell from the front cover, which just has a big silver '3' slap bang in the middle of the sleeve. Almighty specialise in hi nrg dancefloor friendly club mixes of well known songs. Often aimed at a camp market, the songs are meant to be taken in good spirit. There are twelve tracks on here and a delightful twenty track megamix on the second disc.

Highlights include Diana Ross' 'Keep Me Hangin' On' which has quite a gentle vocal at first, before launching an onslaught of ruthless desperation, a solid remix here and a good start. There is a cover of the Strike classic 'U Sure Do,' which puzzles me. The original is timeless and realy did not need a revamp. This version zaps the life out of Strike's song and the vocal has way less edge.

Swedish popstars Alcazar get a pleasing remix of 'World We Live In,' which samples a bit of Genesis to good effect. Very catchy and commercial and strong male vocals too.

Make sure you skip the cover of Michelle McManus' 'All This Time.' It is the kind of song which had had its moment and should have been left well alone, I really cannot think anyone would want to hear it several years down the line, sung by someone else!

There is a super remix of Quartzlock's 'Love Eviction.' A ballsy vocal and so much conviction in her voice sells this one; it is one to play when you're throwing a lovers strop and want your ex out of your life! Attitude galore and such fiery energy will make you want to get up and shake your thang. Another song which features in the megamix on the second disc is Phixx's 'Wild Boys,' which is a fair take on Duran Duran's pop masterpiece, though doesn't have Le Bon's sensual tones of course.

Recommended for fans of very very cheesy pop!

Summary: hmmm
