DJ Yoda's slightly eccentric stlye of DJ'ing is really apparent here, he seems to use a similar approach when producing his tracks; they are full of fun and humor but still appeal to 'real' fans of hip hop music. There are some genuinely great tracks here but DJ Yoda allows his 'fun' side to come out to play more than once. We've all stood in the playground as a kid and made our coat zips make that noise that sounds like a DJ scratching, haven't we? Try it now, move your zip up and down a few times. You love it! Maybe it was just me and some of my mates doing this but DJ Yoda makes a whole track out of that noise on track 18 (Zipper Scratch). It sounds much better than you would expect, believe it or not. He also lets loose on track 20 (Duellin' Banjos) which samples the 'banjo scene' from the film 'Deliverance' and scratches alongside it. Look up the original on youtube if you don't know it, its well worth doing.

Yoda also calls in the 'comedy rapper' MC Paul Barman for track 21 (SALAAM), this is a strange track with some really funny parts. Paul Barman is a strange individual but delivers his lines really well. This is one of those tracks that is great the first few times but the novelty wears off after a while.

One of my favourite tracks off this album is 'Breakfast Cereal' (track 5). Featuring the man, the legend, Biz Markie, the title of this track gives it all away, it's about the most important meal of the day. Biz raps his way through some amusing verses about his favourite cereals and sings an incredibly catchy chorus in his own inimitable style. Towards the end of the track, Yoda scratches some insane samples taken from endless sources, also talking about breakfast. This song is a bit daft but I never ever EVER get bored of hearing it.

The first single from this album is 'Wheels'. This song has a nice funky beat and bass but the main attraction of it is the various samples that are used throughout. The main sample is from 'Level 42 - Sun Goes Down' which was released in 1983. Not an obvious choice for a Hip Hop album but it works, very very well.

Possibly the best English rapper at the moment, Sway provides the vocals for Chatterbox (track 14). This is another stand out track on the album. The stuttering beats and powerful bass work really well. UK Hip Hop as it should be. It draws in a few other elements (grime and garage most noticeably). Sway's verses and chorus are, as you would expect, humourous, well written and well delivered. The track deals with the amount of gossiping that takes place in society. This track also featured on DJ Yoda's 'fabriclive' mix (see my review), so he must be proud of it!

The Jungle Brothers were brought in for the track 'Playin Around' (track 7). Another semi-serious hip hop track, this has an infectious beat and catchy chorus. The Jungle Brothers (Afrika Baby Bam and Mike Gee) lay down some clever lyrics on what is essentially a party track. This deserves to be played as loud as possible.

This album is reflective of DJ Yoda in that it is alot of fun and it makes it almost impossible to keep your feet and head still. Any of the tracks off this album make me want to dance. It's far from a straight-forward hip hop album, there are so many other influences and styles chucked in here its not easy to pigeon-hole this album, so I would suggest you don't bother trying. Just put it on and enjoy.
