American Hi-Fi is an American alternative rock based in Los Angeles, California, orignally hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. The Band is best known for their 2001 hit single, "Flavor of the Weak". -Yes, i took that from Wikipedia, but atleast i'm honest :) No, really, that's the best way to introduce the bad....they stole it from ... Flavour of the Weak was my first taste of American Hi Fi. I loved the song with its catchy chorus and hooks. I then heard Another Perfect Day on the radio, and I decided to buy the album. I had to order it in the music shop, but it was worth it. Every song is better than the last. They mix slow melodic rock with sharp pop-punk and a slight grunge ... Read the complete review

As you have seen from my last opinions on Dooyoo, I'm quite a fan of Emo and Punk but American Hi-Fi are hardly punk but who cares. To be honest, they are about as punk as OPM and Crazy Town. Combined. But there is just something about this band and their punk-rock live shows. By all accounts they Rock. And this album shows plenty of promise. ... Read the complete review

How this band is not more popular than it is I will never know. Maybe "Flavour of the Week" put some people off who thought American Hi-Fi were another wannabe punk group. Im not a big fan of that song althought its OK but the rest of the album is so brilliant you dont want it too end. There are some great rock tracks on here including ... Read the complete review

This style of sort of punk/skater-associated style seems to be very popular these days, there are a lot of similar bands coming out and you could say one of the first more commercial bands was Blink 182 (I’m not saying American Hi-Fi are the same as blink 182 in any way, merely using as an example). American Hi-Fi I would say are different ... Read the complete review

Upon hearing the single 'Flavor of the Weak', i was immediately impressed with the bands' sound, and buying the self-titled album couldn't have been a better decision...American Hi Fi immediately show what they are capable of, with songs like 'safer on the outside', 'i'm a fool' and 'what about today'. ... I only recently heard about American Hi-Fi whilst doing my daily rounds on the music channels on Sky. Kerrang!, this is the music channel on which my ears were blessed, now I know that Kerrang! viewers like their bands such as Slip Knot and such, however this great band aren't the screaming lyrics about drugs, death, kids and so on (although ... This is the great debut album from the Boston boys. This is great rock n roll music and great set-up. Although there are definitely some weak songs, there are also some very strong ones. I don't think that this album is quite what American Hi-Fi describe it as themselves, but it is definitely a good buy. It kind of sounds like the Foo Fighters ... Read the complete review
