One of the best rock albums of all time (American Idiot: Parental Advisory - Green Day)
Member Name: mousedadrummer
Advantages: Brilliant songs Disadvantages: None American Idiot, the 7th studio release from the brilliant Green Day has to be one of the most important albums of the noughties! The band were almost ready to give up after encountering problems working together, a 4 year gap since last album Warning, and having the original master tapes stolen from the studio. Instead of giving up though, the band came back with a monster of an album...and are we glad they did! American Idiot marks a change in the band, sure theyve have become more mainstream gaining more and more radio airplay, but how can that not be a good thing which American Idiot deals with plently of political issues from the war in Iraq, to the Bush administration, gay rights and drug abuse. Dubbed by the band as a "rock opera" the album follows characters St Jimmy and Whatsername through various troubles. The songs range from soft ballads such as Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Wake Me Up When September Ends and Are We The Waiting to fast, energetic punky songs like American Idiot and St Jimmy. This album is a must have for anybody! Summary: A brilliant comeback for Green Day! |
