Advantages: seamless, loud, lovely geetars, songs with meaning - themes, no wishy washy love stuff

I have to disagree with the other opinions about this album. I've liked Offspring for a few years and have enjoyed their previous stuff.

While this album is very obviously what some people would call a sell out (like the last album from the Manics), it's still Offspring at their roots - just made more for the charts than earlier stuff.

I don't really blame them - having spent over 15 years out of the limelight, I'd have got fed up with people not hearing my stuff too. This album has deffo got the attention of the world and is bringing more people to their earlier stuff too.

It's excellent rock music, it's not trying to be grand and clever like Guns and Roses had a tendency to. It's basic rock and roll, with a bit of the angry young man thrown in. You will be familiar with "The Kids aren't alright" and "Pretty Fly" and the rest of the album is pretty similar in style.

There is a hilarious version of "Feelings" ("Feelings, nothing more than feelings, feeling like I wanna deck you" etc), plus their recent chart hits.

Those who don't like this sort of music will say that all the songs sound the same - that's just their style. No farting around, ripping geetar riffs, lots of melodic shouting from Dexter, lots of opinions and the aforementioned slightly angry young man stuff. Each song has a definate theme - no wishy washy stuff - all stories on their own.

It aint for little kids. It's probably best suited to grown up punks and like a good bit of rock and roll.
