The addition of instrumental intro tracks helps to break up the album a bit more. There is a lot more clean singing which i think is great because it brings more contrast to the songs.
The skill of the musicians is top notch, the guitars are even more complex and technical as is the drumming which is one of the best things about As I Lay Dying.
The album is more "overproduced" than their past releases which has its advantages ( a more diverse sound) but i think they ...more |

An Ocean Between Us by As I Lay dying is a very solid Metal-core album and is done very well. There is a noticible progression from the previous album but it isnt that much different either. It does have more melodic moments (The Sound of Truth is a good example) and also more heavier moments (Nothing Left and Within Destruction).
