      5/5

The 3rd studio album from the duo which was released it 1989 and only climbed to 39 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and 19 in the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album Chart, only 1 single was released entitled ' I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson '.

      Each track reviewed.

      1. Then She Bit Me. Not the best start to an album, its a slow dracula themed beat, more on the comedic side with prince singing low about a girl vampire.

      2. I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson. I love this song its brilliant in all ways from the beat to the video, as you can guess its about the prince thinking hes the best boxer in the world and squares up to tyson, the beat is cool and flows nicely.

      3. Jazzy's Groove. Now the focus turns to Jazzy Jeff, its a great song a few familiar samples and a perfect beat, Jeff performs all sorts of scratchs and sampling throughout.

      4. Everything That Glitters [Aint Always Gold]. At first i always used to skip this song but once i had a couple of listens on the ipod i never skipped again, in true prince form its a comedic track about going on holiday with his girl but things turn bad once they leave.

      5. You Got It [Donut]. More hip-hop on this, about yet again a girl who tricks the prince into going out with him but only for his money, the beat is more upbeat and easy to dance to, Jazzy breaks some sampling and scratchs.

      6. The Girlie Had A Mustache. The funniest track on the album, prince keeps meeting girls who turn out to be guys....enough said, a simple beat with a nice backing.

      7. The Reverend. Probably the best beat on the album, bass line and sampling and work well togeather, the fastest rapping the prince does, raps about telling people to get up and dance to the beat.

      8. Who Stole My Car?. As its easy to guess the pronce raps about who stole his car, another comedic track with a great beat by Jeff.

      9. The Men Of Your Dreams. The worse track on the album its a bit to slow and is basically about metting the prince and jeff.

      10. Numero Uno. Up there with the best a great fast hip-hop beat with scratching and sampling all throughout, the prince speaks up on this one repping himself and Jeff.

      11. Too Damn Hype. Another great track all about getting up and dancing with a more fast hip-hop style beat with a couple guys in the background.

      12. Jeff Was On The Beat Box. My favourite track on the album, all about Jeff again a wicked beat with various sampled beats and scratching from all sides, prince raps fast on this about nothing in particular but raps VERY fast towards the end.

      My final thought.

Its hard to fault Jazzy Jeff & The Prince over the years, some people dont like that they dont curse or rap about guns etc. but actually without it is much better each song is different and unique which can make you laugh or dance to or sometimes both, i really did enjoy this, jeff breaks out alot of scratching on most of the tracks and the prince continues to do what he does best...rap, although a couple more ttracks would of been better.
