Ancient Wisdom is the solo project of Marcus Norman, or 'Vargher' as he likes to call himself, of Bewitched, and was started in Umeå, Sweden in 1993. Since then he has released four albums under the Ancient Wisdom name, of which 'And the Physical Shape of Light Bled' is the third and saw the light of day in year 2000. All of these albums have come out on Avantgarde Music. A rough description of the sound of the project would be slightly melancholy melodic atmospheric Black Metal. Vargher's third album as Ancient Wisdom offers revelatory insights into the oldest of all tales, chronicling the expulsion of Lucifer from heaven and his subsequent dastardly scheme to impose a similar fate unto his Creator's vain new race of man (the scamp!) It's an adaptation of the story as embellished from the Bible and other sources by Milton in 'Paradise Lost,' a favourite text for metal bands second only to the Cthulhu mythos.
