      Buy the single instead

After the disappointing Amarantine I thought this would be better. It is slighty but still not as good as some of her classics like Watermark say. I'm a bit bored with Enya constantly doing Christmas/ Winter music now as it makes it relevant for a few months only. I bought it on the strength ot Trains and Winter rains which I had heard on radio 2 and I thought great Enya is back to her old self. Well the rest of the CD didn't live up to this. My My time flies is pretty edgey for Enya and actually isn't a bad song. However she references 2010 in the song. AAAAAAAAARGH! I hate songs that are tied down with dates. In 20 years time if I've not thrown the CD out this song will just sound wierd and out of place. Also included are Oiche Chun (Silent Night) - again (she's released this several times already) and O Come Emmanuel - two very christmassy/ advent ones. Enya please start doing general music (but not like Amarantine) again. The other new songs are as usual sang well but are pretty bland. 1. And Winter Came... 2. Journey Of The Angels 3. White Is In The Winter Night 4. O Come, O Come, Emmanuel 5. Trains And Winter Rains 6. Dreams Are More Precious 7. Last Time By Moonlight 8. One Toy Soldier 9. Stars And Midnight Blue 10. The Spirit Of Christmas Past 11. My! My! Time Flies! 12. Oíche Chiúin (Chorale) The CD is £7.99 on play.com. I personally don't think it's worth it though. Maybe £5 max.

      soothing

Being a massive Enya fan I was eager to see what this album had in store. I had not been overwhelmed by her last album Amarantine so I was hoping this one would restore my faith her music. The album gets underway with a delightful instrumental track, a reworking of one of her old B-Sides, though most people possibly would not notice this. The music which follows is soothing, captivating and stunning and she does not put a foot wrong. The stand out tracks are My My Time Flies! Oh Come Emmanuel and Trains and Winter Rains, which takes one back to the good old Enya we have come to love. It is indeed a very wintery album and the music conjures up images of Christmas, snow and presents. It is one of her finer albums for sure and Enya's vacals have never sounded better than on this record. Enya fans must buy it and those who want some soothing calming music will enjoy this too.
