Heavy Metal - 1996

Highest quality power metal with excellent symphonic and tribal influence and a glorious concept. Second half suffers in light of the excellent first.

Some decent power metal and reasonable ballads. Disappointing for Angra.

great riffs, varied songwriting, accessable sound, solid production May annoy some older fans

Distinktive guitar sounds, excellent drumming, amazing vocalist still £15 after 4 yearsnot always in the mood for it

Great bleak atmosphere maintained throughout. Songs are too long and too varied to be consistent.

In Full Gear - Stetsasonic
Lots of bangers One weak track

Kurtis Blow - Kurtis Blow
Classic material Inconsistent

Lifeline - Jesu
Atmospheric, uplifting post-rock for a rainy day. Lacks the punch that Godflesh/early Jesu fans might expect.

Excellent musicianship, some killer riffs and exciting A little relentless feeling at times

Lord Willin' - Clipse
Very original Nothing specific

Megatropolis - Iron Savior
Interesting concept and fun, Judas Priest style heavy metal. Owes everything to 'Painkiller' and the German post-'Painkiller' tradition.

Fueled By Hate - Jungle Rot
High quality old-school death metal... but new. No ideas of its own.

Greatest Hits - Glenn Miller
Some classic tunes. Couple of naff tracks.
