Ultimate Fame - SoundtrackStill Wanna Learn How To Fly? (1327 words)

My husband always likes to buy me a couple of last minute surprises for birthday and Christmas - something I haven't asked for, but that he thinks I'll like. So it was that the Ultimate Fame CD ended up in my hands for my birthday a few years ago. I loved The Kids From Fame TV series in the 1980s and watched every episode I could. I was in love with Carlo Imperato (Danny) and desperately wanted the ability to burst out into a song and dance routine in the street, straddle-jumping off cars and high kicking for Britain. Girls in the Garage Vol. 9 - Various ArtistsFunky 60s Female Sung tunes from Asia (251 words)

A great compilation of Asian girl fronted pop bands from the 60s that brings that is a must ...

Unless it comes to metal or 90s dance music, the Germans don't really stand out as a musical nation but they do have some awesome progressive bands and tracks from the Krautrock era, the lesser known era a couple of years before where the beat bands that set up shop around 63,64 and 65 start experimenting and playing some odd and rather psychedelic stuff is full of rare gems. Kraut! Demons! Kraut! is a collection of such music, perhaps towards the end of the era and crossing over into Kraut rock, there's lots of rather progressive stuff here, it's spacey and different tracks will appeal to different audiences, I find it hit and miss with some tracks impressing but others being ...
