Continuing to take most of his ideas from Black Sabbath, the second Dio solo album released since his reunion with Sabbath for 1992's 'Dehumanizer' takes all of its influences directly from that classic release. I haven't heard the previous 'Strange Highways' that presumably followed a similar style, but it seems that Dio's band has used up all of its best doom/groove metal ideas by this point, resulting in a very average album. This album will be enjoyed by those who considered 'Dehumanizer' the ultimate Black Sabbath release for its political lyrics and heavier style more in line with the nineties metal scene, but it can't avoid sounding like an inferior ...
