Siouxsie Soux, one of the early followers of the Sex Pistols and one of the most interestingly dressed members of the so-called Bromley Contingent, much like Johnny Rotten seems to be the punk that grew up. Musically she's evolved and in doing so has hugely influenced the gothic rock scene.

Before her latest successful poppy solo attempt "MantaRay", there were numerously good albums which didn't get the commercial success they achieved. One of these is the album Anima Animus released by Siouxie Soux and Budgie (the drummer from The Banshees)

The album has a distinct eeriness to it, whether Siouxsie is in full flow or just whispering she compliments the drumming perfectly and her vocals most definitely hold your attention. Choruses tend to be quite catchy and lyrics suit the drum beats as this tasty mixture of electronic drum beats and gothic rock come together. Each time I listen to the album, I struggle to make up my mind what my favourite song is and this is only because there are so many good songs on it. "Exterminating Angel" is a must listen though.

At time when the tempo builds, the band sound like Republica but there's also a very 80s dance feel to it with a sound like The Eurythmics at the best coming in to play, there is however always a notable dark graveyard feel to the music.
