Coupled With - Wildhearts

their entire career. The Wildhearts often seem to be an under-rated band and THIS is an under-rated album. Their trademark sound of heavy punky pop rock is all over this album. Beautiful harmonies over (at times, ridiculously) heavy guitars. A blinding cover of the Cheers theme tune is always good for a chuckle and you can get ...
The Best Of The Wildhearts - The Wildhearts
by FitzyG - written on 23/07/00 (Useful, 33 readings)
Rating:
The Wildhearts are definately one of The best bands to come out of Britain for a while. This collection of songs shows you why. The songs on the album really are the "best" of the WH's but considering this band had so many good songs, this should really be a double album to really be THE BEST of. I think it just exists to make money for the record company. The recordings aren t too bad and the choice of songs included is perfect. But if I want to listen to these tracks I ll go listen to the originals. The handful of tracks from the Reading Festival have a lot of energy and are closer to what the band are truly like live than most of the other recordings on this cd. There is a very enjoyable cover of Elvis Costello s Pump It UP on this album, which is worth checking out ...
