Advantages: heavy rock with poppy and tuneful feel, raw sounding songs, all classics

Disadvantages: becoming slightly dated

Even these days, in 2008, this classic hard hitting heavy rock album is still regarded by many of the genre fanatics as the best rock album ever released, a classic in its own right. When the album was released in 1987 it hit the streets and schools with a new controversy-sparking punky aggressive rock n roll attitude with sleazy songs like It's So Easy and Rocket Queen yet retaining an ample pop-rock sound with songs like Sweet Child Of Mine. A whole era of rock music followed in its footsteps but never suceeded the attitude, the emotion, the passion and the dedication that is 'Appetite For Destruction'

Even after over twenty years the original band members cannot manage to re-create that magical experience and atmosphere that they created back then. Though some may say that they grew less fond of Guns n Roses when they turned into a more commercial band this album takes you back to their wild roots when they were evidently and purely in it for the passion, which shines through so clearly.
