Advantages: Brilliant from start to finish
Disadvantages: realising nothing will be this good again
Sometimes a band makes a record that truly stands the test of time, no how many years after it's creation it is played, such records will still sound as good as always, and this is one of them.
When you look at what is left of the band today (or isn't left to be more accurate) It's hard to believe that they created such an amazing album as this. I owned this first on vinyl with the original cover art (before it got banned).
With amazing song writing from start to finish, and a wonderfully coherent band playing pure sleeze rock, with all the swagger, moans and sexual references you could ask for.
With the sing along classics like Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child of Mine you could put this on at a party and have a room full of 30 something's be very happy with it.
There's also some real not so known (to non music fans) gems on here. Mr Brownstone, night Train and the wonderful rocket Queen all get a special mention from me, but if truth be told there isn't a single bad barr of music on this album let alone a bad song.
This probably one of the best albums ever made, and still sounds fantastic today.
Summary: You just have to own it
