Sepultura are a thrash metal band from Brazil; in 1991 they released the album "Arise" by Roadrunner Records which was their first album recorded outside their homeland Brazil and their fourth full-length album. The Line Up was composed by Max Cavalera (vocals/guitar), Andreas Kisser (lead guitar), Paulo Jr. (bass guitar), Igor Cavalera (drums). "Arise" has got many good tracks such as the opener-titletrack "Arise" with good heavy riffing, "Dead Embryonic Cells" or "Murder" and represents one of best albums of the 90s for its particular mix of Death & Thrash with some of the components of brazilian ... A solid and menacing slab of speed and power metal. Very much in the vein of 'Lightning' and 'Master' era Metallica, with strong strains of Slayer as well. Tight rhythm arrangements, great riff sections, and fast double bass work. The vocals are growly, but not undistinguisable. The title track is fast and thrashy, and sets the pace for the rest of the disc. Great head-moving segments are held all throughout Murder, and there's plenty of nasty thrashing and contained riffage in Desperate Cry.
