Sepultura are a thrash metal band from Brazil; in 1991 they released the album "Arise" by Roadrunner Records which was their first album recorded outside their homeland Brazil and their fourth full-length album. The Line Up was composed by Max Cavalera (vocals/guitar), Andreas Kisser (lead guitar), Paulo Jr. (bass guitar), Igor Cavalera (drums).

"Arise" has got many good tracks such as the opener-titletrack "Arise" with good heavy riffing, "Dead Embryonic Cells" or "Murder" and represents one of best albums of the 90s for its particular mix of Death & Thrash with some of the components of brazilian traditions such you can see in "Altered State". Max’s voice is angry and gives a good ambient on the lyrics, which speak about the problems of wartime and the destruction of cities, and the desperation of a world ruled by corruption and violence.
Anyhow in 1991 many great works of Death Metal will stand out, an example is "Human" of Chuck Shuldiner's Death
other tracks are pretty good: "Desperate Cry" (a really great song), "Subtraction", "Under Siege (Regnum Irae)", "Meaningless Movements" or "Infected Voice".

As Bonus track are present "Orgasmatron" e cover of Lemmy's Motorhead, some people say that Max was drunk by rhum while registering this song; and the special edition of this album presents also "C.I.U. (Criminal in Uniform)"

Goodbye by Blackseiya

Summary: it's a great album
