"Art Official Intelligence" the recent release by DE La Soul, represents a slight departure from their previous works. Gone are the Daisy Age musings on tracks like 'Eye Know', 'Say no Go' and 'Me myself and I'. In their place comes hard hitting rhymes on floor filling tracks such as 'OOO', 'Thru Ya city' and 'All Good'. De La also bring in heavyweight contributors from the world of hip hop and soul: Redman, Busta Rhymes and Chaka Khan in an obvious attempt to reignite their popularity. To put it simply, this album works. It is catchy, but also credible, and most importantly varied.
