As Cruel As School Children - Gym Class Heroes

Hip Hop band Gym Class Heroes formed in New York back in 1997. In December 2001 they independently released their first album '...For The Kids', it was not until 2005 however that they would release their second; 'The Papercut Chronicles' through Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance. 'As Cruel As School Children' is their third studio album to date and was released in 2006, again through Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance. The album contains fifteen tracks and the track titles are set out like a school day. The gm class heroes third album was a major hit across not only the US but the UK as well. For that to happen is something special, and brings an instant appeal to every track that may be situated on this album. I hadn't heard of them before 'as cruel as school children' was released, but this catapulted them to being one of my favourite artists. Exactly when genre they are viewed it is it's own debate. I'd say they can be a bit of a mix between hip hop and rap; and maybe even R&B. I first discovered my love for gym class heroes having heard 'cupids chokehold' on the radio. This debut album from the gym class hero's was released in 2007 after a big wait from the release in the single Cupids Chokehold, which hit the UK and USA by storm and had all RnB, Hip hop and Rap fans buzzing of the anticaption of this album. The album has tracks that are broke up itno a school day because of the album name. The album has many decent songs and has a mix of decent RnB music then also good rap lyrics and hip hop beats, a good album for all to enjoy. A good album from gym class heroes released in 2007.I liked the sound and style this whole album had to offer.I feel that it was and still is very creative and alternative,it mixes r'n'b, hip hop and pop all together to create contageously catchy and distinctive sounding songs. I really liked alot of the songs used on this album from the chart ready track: clothes off to my favourite slow sounding track: On My Own Time (Write On!) The whole album was just enjoyable and fun to listen to. It took you through a wide variety of emotions and feelings which for me makes a good album.
