While heavy metal isn't exactly renowned for its lyrical prowess, and literary influence is often limited to the horror best-sellers list or the most recent Hollywood novel adaptation, this release sees Astral Doors tackle subjects as diverse as the Ark of the Covenant, Oliver Twist and EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon, otherwise known as static and wind passed off as ghost communication), all condensed into three and a half minute treatments ...

A mix of everything, Somthing for everyone on this album A place for my head and one ctep closer are becoming over played on the radio

Unique material, with some interesting covers. Live versions are a little disappointing, and the Megadeth cover is terrible.

A nice range of songs from the first three albums. Too early for a live album, and there's nothing particularly exciting about it.

A surprisingly fair representation of the album's strengths and weaknesses. Really bad Judas Priest cover song.

Competent industrial, with a little something for everybody (you know, within reason). An unsettling mix, and not always in the good way.

A great early black metal sound, with great vocals and guitars. Mechanical drumming is distracting.

Incredible guitar performance from an overlooked and ill-fated musician. Nothing for the casual listener.

The 2 singles. It sags in the middle.
