Pixies At The Bbc - Pixies

A couple years ago (back in 1999), I went into a large record store. In an attempt to find Bjork's original band (The Sugarcubes), I mistakenly picked up The Pixies. Somehow, I associated Bjork with a pixie. Oops, my mistake. When I went home, I tossed this in and listened. Hey, where's Bjork? I do not here anything that sounds like 'Vitamin' or 'Hit', huh? Oh, but I like this...really. It kind of reminds me of a harsher Nirvana and I dig the lead singer's voice. The next day, I listened again. In virtually an instant, it worked up to my top shelf. The Pixies were most famous for having inspired the Nirvana song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by their song "Debaser" off Doolittle.This often overshadowed the true groundbreaking nature of the Pixies work.This is not a "proper" Pixies album nor even a definitive best of,that album is called "Death to the Pixies".However it is a very good album for providing second glances at already recorded Pixies' songs,different slants on them,as it were.
