This is the solo album of Melissa Auf der Maur, who had previously played bass in the band Hole with Courtney Love, and in the Smashing Pumpkins. On first listen I absolutely loved this album, all the tracks sound different to each other, unlike so many simple and bland albums these days. All the songs are so full of rich sound. The album contains the unique single 'Followed the Waves', and the rest of the album is just as good. To compare it to Courtney Love's new album (of whom she worked with when in the band Hole), it is very different, and shows her more worthy to be an 'alt-rock icon'. Courtney has gone for mainstream synthetic America whereas Auf Der Maur has touched something a lot deeper and with a lot more detail in the music. Courtney's album has been produced by Linda Perry, a ... Read the complete review
