When I was first introduced to The Counting Crows album ‘August and Everything After’ I had mixed feelings. Many of the songs sounded similar, and some of the lyrics appeared odd! A few months later I started listening to the album again and found that the more I listened to it the more I liked it. As I became familiar with the lyrics I found they had a quality not found in much of the music around today. Songs such as ‘Sullivan Street’ and ‘Raining in Baltimore’ are extraordinarily moving as they speak of loneliness and lost love. Recovering The Satellites - Counting Crows

This is a bit of a wierd Crows album because it is a bit heavier and rockier than their usual stuff. Its still a great album though. I don't like all the songs on here but the back half of the album is a bit more like their normal style. That is with plenty of guitar and fantastic lyrics. The songs are equally as emotive as any other Crows song if you can get through the rock influence thingy. My fav song on this album has to be 'Another Horsedreamers Tale' or something like that. It is a fantastic song about a girl with a st life. It seems to be about whats going on in her head. It's a nice perspective to write a song from because it's a bit ...
