This fans-only compilation of Arjen Lucassen demos, outtakes and alternate takes (anyone can buy it, but only fans will really be interested) is a nice supplement to an Ayreon collection, even if it interrupts the flow a little by coming in the middle of the musical project's ever-expanding but incredibly loose-knit storyline. As with all Ayreon albums, the listener is taken on a journey back in time, but here the Amazing Trip spans the less fantastical span of eight years, from alternate versions of tracks from the then-recent 'Flight of the Migrator' album right back to home demos that worked their way into future releases.
