Who doesn't remember the summer Britney Spears burst onto the music scene wearing that school uniform in her 'Baby One More Time' video? I was around eight years old at the time and thought that she was so cool. I have been a fan of Britney every since!

Baby One More Time is Britney's debut album. It was released in the United Kingdom back in 1999. The album did extremely well in the British Album Charts; reaching number 2. The album is currently available to buy from Amazon from as little as £0.01 which I think is excellent value for money.

Wow! A great Britney album.

If I am honest, whilst I liked Britney in her latter years, I actually preferred his like she was on this album; sweet and innocent. The majority of songs on here are quite 'lovey dovey' and romantic; I really like them. Such romantic songs include: Sometimes (an up-beat ballad with a catchy chorus), Born To Make You Happy (a moody kind of upbeat ballad) and From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart (a highly emotional ballad). In fact a lot of the songs seem to be about 'love'; whether it's having a crush on someone (you drive me crazy) or whether it's the end of a relationship (From The Bottom of My Broken Heart).

There are some great songs on here; my favourites being: Baby One More Time, Crazy, Sometimes, Born To Make You Happy, Frome The Bottom Of My Broken Heart and The Beat Goes On. It's ironic that the best songs on the album are the ones which were released as singles; I find that as the album goes on the songs get weaker and weaker; I'm not saying that the songs are bad but they aren't 'strong' as the first few.

There are a couple of songs which I am not really a fan of. Those include 'Soda pop' (so cheesy it makes me cringe!) and 'I Will Still Love You' which is a duet; to me it's just a boring song.

One thing I like about this album is the fact that one of the major 'focuses' is on Britney's voice. She sings really well on this album; she proves that she really can sing. She does have quite a powerful voice at times, which she shows off beautifully in the ballad 'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart'. Britney really puts her all into this album; she really connects with the listener. This album shows off her voice much better than her more recent albums which seem to like making Britney sound a bit like a robot.

I think that this album is very girlie and I love it's summery feel. I think that teenage girls will be able to relate to this album more in particular; especially as a lot of the songs are based on 'teenage crushes'.

Even though this album was released over twelve years ago, there is still something remarkably refreshing about it, and therefore I would definitely recommend it.
