This release from the Immigrant Suns was pretty groundbreaking as far as roots music goes, I usually use that type of sentence when I talk about rock/roots music like Kultur Shock, Firewater and the like but Immigrant Suns is very much a different kettle of fish, the band out of Detroit use various types of traditional music and a whole range of instruments to achieve their desired sound, pleasantly accompanied by some great vocals. Immigrant Suns break borders as well as the timeline, to come up with a fresh and fun sound where Latin, Balkan, North African and Klezmer music can be mixed into the one track.
