Advantages: Easy listening. Chicks dig him.

Disadvantages: Embarassed to listen when the boys are over.

Folks,

I have to be honest. There aren't many CDs I can listen to from beginning to end without thinking a handful of songs are utter trash. How we're expected to keep paying a tenner for a couple of good songs is a mystery. Online music sales are going to pick up because of it.

In this case, David Blunt's CD is actually pleasant from beginning to end. That does make me wonder whether he's a one-trick pony or not. Maybe we'll see when his next album is released.

You're Beautiful and High are two of the nicest songs on the CD, but So Long Jimmy is catchy as is Three Wise Men. All of the songs are easy to sing to and the catchy music isn't overwhelmingly obnoxious. The man's singing voice is unique. While kind of gravelly his voice is still pleasant.

The internet news reported this week that so popular has Back to Bedlam been that Blunt had to stand up for himself at a recent award ceremony when credited with the most overplayed album award. He took the prize gracefully of course. I'm unaware of whether any further singles from the album are going to be released onto the airwaves.

For the girlfriend or wife's birthday, I'd definitely say this is a winner. The missus has been listening to it non stop since her birthday a month ago. My own personal opinion...if you can tolerate soft rock or pop you'll appreciate this album even if you're of the male persuasion. And remember, this is from a man who likes classic rock.

Summary: A definite winning CD for the girlfriend or wife. Dudes will like it too.

I'm also fond of rereading what I write and making improvements...first drafts aren't always my best work.

Thanks for your advice. I was just excited to find Dooyoo and thought I'd comment on the recent purchases I've made.

Have to say I agree with Rachel below. You'll find on this site that it's better to spend more time on a single review than posting lots of smaller ones with less details as you don't get the same amount of reads. The best way to learn is to read lots of other reviews especially those that come up as being rated very helpful. You'll get ideas for content and different ways to lay out your review so that it makes it clear for readers to enjoy. Hope this helps and you enjoy your time on the site. Belinda
