The Singles soundtrack is possibly THE best soundtrack EVER, especially if you're into the grunge scene, firstly it has the best grunge bands on ever, and manages to bypass Nirvana which is an achievement in itself. The film itself is a bit pants, especially compared to its soundtrack, but its saving grace is the music that is played in the background....and it is quite funny. The first track is "Would?" by Alice in Chains, an amazing song by an amazing band, and if you're already a fan of this band you'll definately know this song, but if you don't know them then after you know this song you'll soon become a fan. "Lady Marmalade." I normally live under a rock, I am totally out of touch with the charts, so i had no diea about this one, or the Artists . It's a damn fin version, with more of a rock feel and less of a disco beat. To say that I enjoyed Moulin Rouge the movie would be understatement. I was overwhelmed by Baz Luhrmann's amazing style of quick-edged cuts and maddening visuals, as well as his attempt to bring the musical genre back into the mainstream, albeit forcefully. The wonderful setting of Paris in the 1900s with can-can dancers in Montmatre, the bohemian absinthe drinkers, collided with a multitude of words, music, costumes and imagery left me almost breathless. The music in the movie is obviously incredibly important.
