needn t be as the album manages to combine rock and blues, going from one extreme to the other. This album is probably my favourite all time album, Gary Moore at his best and the album that made me decide to play the guitar. Two of my favourites from this album are Still Got The Blues and Walking By Myself, two tracks which are deceptively hard to play due to the very fast playing on the solos by Mr Moore. A lot of the music on this track really does make you want to get up and dance, with some having very hard and fast beats, reminiscent of rock music, and others being very gentle and deep. The are also some great collaberations on this album, with the likes of ...

music found on Still Got The Blues, although the music on that album has a bit more of a rock feel to it. After Hours is my favourite Gary Moore album, along with Still Got the Blues. Ont of my favourite tracks on this album is cold day in hell, along with jumping at shadows. These two tracks, respectively, have a rock feel on the one end of the scale (cold day in hell) and a very bluesy feel on the other (jumping at shadows). There is a good combination of real delta blues and other songs which sound like they would be quite at home with Gary during his Thin Lizzy era. There are also some great duets, BB King being a notable one. This is one of the very first albums ...

a mixture of old blues standards as well as new material. The Album is packed with driving guitar virtuosity in the fast paced songs and in the slower songs Gary reaches the pinnacle of melodic excellency and taste and the listener’s interest is always retained. The opening track is ‘Cold Day in Hell’ and is a phenomenal opening song for the album with its roaring opening blues line and a beautifully played (if slightly unconventional given its context) solo. ‘The Blues is Alright’ with Albert Collins follows along a similar line and the contrasting tones of the respective players compliment each other beautifully when played together. ‘Since I Met You Baby ‘ is ...

Great diversity of styles, "Oh Well" is just ace, Experimental and loose feel A few tracks don't really 'gel' as well as othersDoesn't have mainstream appeal

Excellent late night whiskey drinking music

great music, most of it forgotten classics low audio quality on some tracks

Psychedelic Rock - 2005

Sweeping orchestra and great songwriting make this a grand affair. Some songs are a little bit too sombre, the upbeat songs are the more favoured on the album.

It's a damn fine record, Guitars, Songwriting Dodgy cover

Waiting For Bonaparte - Men They Couldn't Hang
fantastic blend of rock, folk and english history none

The Very Best Of Nina Simone Vol.1 - Nina Simone
Great Album Hard to find one

Black Holes And Revelations - Muse
Easier on the ears, more tuneful, eclectic spread of styles, brilliantly mastered Aside from the weak track 5, none!

Stadium Arcadium - Red Hot Chili Peppers
28 New tracks from the kings of funk rock Maybe a few too many "fillers"

Quintessence - Borknagar
Superb technical musicianship, and evolving the band's distinctive sound. Many of the songs blur together.

Poison Sweet Madeira - Sophie Solomon
Lots of styles, really contemporary on some, more traditional on others If you enjoy only house music then I wouldn't really say you'll like this

Meds - Placebo
Their most complete recording yet, a good progression of Without You I'm Nothing A couple of the singles stink bad, including Meds which was a poor opening song

Lizard - King Crimson
Early, experimental prog rock for people afraid of real jazz. Several weak songs, with too much focus on variation.

Harmonium - Vanessa Carlton
An improvement on "Be Not Nobody" Difficult to find cheaply

Betty Blue - Soundtrack
Reminds me of the film None
