Bruce Dickinson's 1994 effort should really be considered his first solo album, if you prefer to pretend that the mostly awful 'Tattooed Millionaire' never existed, Holocaust-denial-style. The debut of Dickinson's music partner Roy Z on guitar, this is a heavier, darker and much more focused affair than its predecessor, lying in a satisfying position between heavy metal and hard rock, and more impressive than Dickinson's last two efforts with Iron Maiden before departing the previous year, especially in the vocal department which has now returned to its former glory.
