This is a truly heart felt song, I always think I can hear the facial expressions of tears and crying in this song, but not in a slow quiet sniff, in the deep loud way that you feel when you have lost something so close and realise you will never have that same thing/person/relationship back again. Third track: "Hurting time" this one I am not so keen on, its a bit too slow. But still w...more

Crowned Review Bare - Annie Lennox: The Naked Diva (1219 words)
by - written on 23/08/03 (Very useful, 102 readings)
Rating:

After an 11 year break, Annie Lennox is back, with the release of her third solo album ?Bare?. Annie, now an amazing 48, started her career way back in 1976, when she was a member of The Catch, together with Dave Stewart, her partner. They then formed The Tourists, and had a hit with ?I only wanna be with you?. Dave and Annie went on to form The Eurythmics, and after the release of ?Sweet Dreams? they became one of the most successful bands of the Eighties. In 1988, Annie married for the second time, but this marriage, as her first, was doomed to failure, despite giving Annie the joy of two daughters. Annie gave birth to a stillborn son ...  Read the complete review

I think this has got to be the most beautiful album I have ever heard. Annie Lennox really made something very honest and very down to Earth when she created this make no mistake. Every word, every melody and every song speaks volumes, the more you sit and listen, the more you either concentrate on the music, the melody, the lyrics, the expression tones, whatever grabs you, the deeper into the song you become, the more you understand and the more of an incite you get. What Annie Lennox has produced here is an album with a difference. Its full of every emotion you can imagine. It was written at the point of her divorce to her long term partner which would have ...  Read the complete review

??And love don't show up in the pavement cracks I can't even cover up my tracks I'm going nowhere and I'm light years back..? Great cd to listen to, when you feel down. I just realized that today as it?s not one of the best days for me. Anyway?I am listening to this album now so it?s the best time to write an opinion on it. The cover. If you can cope seeing this goddess to throwing away the make-up from her image, coming out with open, uncared, wounds, then this album will touch you.(?Its made to touch you because is hand made, builted with human materials that have been gathered after the demolition of an old ...  Read the complete review

My War - Black Flag
Even more experimental and talented than the previous album. Second half may seem a little dull.

Loose Nut - Black Flag
Solid production and another fine performance from Greg Ginn. The rest of the band seems burnt out.

Live '84 - Black Flag
A necessary celebration of 1984 material. Instrumentals are a bit wearing.

Jealous Again - Black Flag
Short and sweet offering of early Black Flag. Far too short to be of any real interest.

In My Head - Black Flag
Still tries something new... sort of. Disappointing final release, lacking in energy and creativity.

Damaged - Black Flag
Not a bad song. Some sound similar.

Fight To Live - Bouncing Souls
Modern Punk - 1999

Family Man - Black Flag
Creative, original and so strange. Unbalanced, and many will be turned off by the spoken word half.
