1977. I was into 6th form at school. Everyone else was into the BeeGees. Me - I only had a couple of albums and i hated the Beegees and their dopey vocals. And pride of place was this absolute gem. Many people are now familiar with the history - as recently shown on BBC1 on their program about classic albums. They only expected to sell 20,000 copies or so. No one would produce Jim Steinmans rock opera creation until Todd Rungren came along. Unfortunately the lack of conviction shows in the quaility of the recording which is barely more than muddled. No end of remastering has failed to remedy this - the loud passages are even more of a wall of ... Read the complete review

Whilst I am on a mini fad of reviewing my CD collection I just had to include Bat Out of Hell. So here goes............... Introduction Again, I will give some background information into the artist. I believe that this allows you to understand the artist and indeed the album better. First off lets start with Meatloaf's real name: Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin Lee Aday) September 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas, United States. An American Rock style singer and bit part actor. The Album It would seem that its the same old story.... Groundbreaking Album...... singer/songwriter claims..." I could not get a record ... Read the complete review

Meatloaf is an incredibly popular artist ? just look at his record sales to know that is true ? however, it is difficult to find anyone who will admit to being a Meatloaf fan! Maybe because he?s not heavy enough for the metalheads to admit to liking, and too heavy for the boyzone brigade! Despite his ?uncool? status, nearly everyone knows someone who owns this album ? and if you didn?t before, now you do ? me! First released in 1977 by Sony Music Entertainment Inc, this album has sold over 30 million copies world wide ? and counting. The album was produced, engineered and mixed by Todd Rundgren Arranged by Jim Steinman with Todd Rundgren And of ... Read the complete review

Not many people know that this is actually the third biggest selling album of all time. The title, "Meat Loaf- Bat Out Of Hell" subtitled, "songs by Jim Steinman" caused a huge feud between Meatloaf and Jim Steinman- one which took over five years to completely resolve- and, of course, they are five years which could have been spent recording music of the same calibre. Jim Steinman's argument was that the album should be called Jim Steinman and Meatloaf- Bat Out of Hell. Or vice versa, but still to that effect. Indeed, if you should find yourself in the presence of a copy- or even just hearing any of the songs, then take a moment to acknowledge ... Read the complete review

At the end of Dooyoo opinions about music albums there is a question ‘Favourite album of all time’. Well, probably like a lot of people my all time favourite changes depending upon what mood I am in, but in the majority of cases it is 'Bat Out Of Hell' that is my choice, as this really is a fantastic album. When you refer to Meat Loaf it always seems confusing as to whether you mean the man, or the group, but it is a ‘sound’ that is so distinctive. Meat Loaf have been around for over 20 years and are still very popular, which is a fine testament to the music they play. This album contains a mixture of loud, fast music, ... Many tracks SHAKE DAT thing with terrible production and cliché lyrics - TRUE GARBAGE !
The Struggle - Cappadonna
Magnificent tracks like Cappadonna's MAMMA displays ROLE OF A LIFETIME in social Hip Hop.
Awful tracks like DO IT PUSH forced me to go through THE STRUGGLE in hearing simplistic lyrics.
Somewhere In The Between - Streetlight Manifesto
An album full of catchy, well put together songs
A fairly short album (10 songs) and not as energetic as debut
First Family 4 Life - M.O.P.
I LUV the sound of the energy and creativity that M.O.P. display over high quality production
Raise the 4 ALARM BLAZE! There are two filler tracks invading the album
Reason To Believe - Pennywise
Some of the tracks are quite interesting, 'Next in Line' is an excellent closing track.
The album is largely disappointing and for the most part lacking in life.
Gods Of War + Blood Upon The Altar - Blasphemy
Bad attitude and interesting fusion of extreme, early nineties genres.
Songs are so short as to be fairly pointless.
Generation X - Generation X
Some solid pop-punk
Well, diversity isn't something it has in spades
Firing Squad - M.O.P.
Many classic Hip Hop tracks designed with WORLD FAMOUS production from Big Jaz and Primo.
M.O.P.'s FIRING SQUAD lyrics may be too hardcore for most of you pop music fans

Friendly and innocent artists, singing about things slightly less innocent
Not a great mix of tracks

Some good sounding songs
Some cheesy girl group songs.
