Well i bought this album when it came out, and obviously there was a big bandwagon of people slagging it off because it wasnt as good as Definitely Maybe and Whats the Story?

Granted those two albums are better but this album more than holds its own and I do still listen to this album more than whats the story, in fact, because I think this album has a longer lasting appeal. Im not saying its better but lets be honest, Who isnt bored of wonderwall or roll with it yet?

Be here now starts off with a poor title track and for some reason their first release from it, D'you know what i mean was unquestionably the wrong track to release and that is why the bandwagon probably started rolling. There are great sing a long songs on this album though, my favourites being:

I hope I think I know - One of my favourite ever oasis tracks

The girl in the dirty sheet - Great melody, typical Oasis

Dont go away- Superb song, will always be remembered

Be here now- A track that could fit in on the 1st album perfectly.


Yes the album isnt a classic but there are other good tunes on the album, magic pie, stand by me and all around the world. This is far better than the following album (standing on the shoulders) and is well worth purchasing
