BE is Swedish prog-metallers Pain Of Salvation's 5th full length album, and what an album it is. In typical PoS fashion BE spans the genres; Folk (Imago, Martius/Nauticus), Gospel (Nauticus), Metal (Diffidentia) and even a Broadway-esque 10 minute plus epic in Dea Pecuniae. Not content with providing their audience with incredible music, Daniel Gildenlow & co have written a profound and thought-provoking story told via both music and words. The end result is nothing short of amazing. Gildenlow's diverse vocal range is shown to decent effect here, although his soaring high-register cries are somewhat missed.
